The increase in sales is due to the culmination of new menu items and the increased popularity of take-outs due to the global pandemic.
The brand has announced that comparable sales grew 24.2% at locations across North America in August. The sales increase can be partly attributed to product innovation and offering new menu items across its network. These include the ‘Shaq-a-Roni’ pizza that debuted in June, an extra-large pepperoni pizza, a collaboration between the brand and Shaquille O’Neal, which has been extremely popular with fans.
Since, Papa John’s has announced it will roll out the Grilled Buffalo Chicken Papadia – another quirky menu item – which mixes the key aspects from pizzas, quesadillas and chicken wings.
CEO, Rob Lynch has said in a statement: “Papa John’s sales, driven by product innovative, remained strong in August. As we have added new customers throughout 2020, our customer satisfaction and brand affinity scores also continue rising.”
