3D Sushi Available in Tokyo

The Sushi Singularity restaurant is set to offer 3D printed sushi to its guests.

In an extremely innovative approach, each customer will receive completely individualised sushi base on their DNA. After guests have made a reservation, they will receive health test kits from the restaurant which will pinpoint an individual’s health IDs. Once this data has been collated, cooking ingredients will be optimised, nutrients will be formulated and a number of revolutionary techniques will be used to produce each individual piece of sushi.

The technology involved in the process includes a food fabrication machine, a food operation system and a health identification system which will all be used to produce the ‘new sushi’ to its customers. Sushi Singularity currently offers eight models to their customers including the ‘Cell Cultured Tuna’, ‘Powdered Sintered Uni’, ‘Negative Stiffness Honeycomb Octopus’, ‘Oze Tick Kappe Roll’, ‘Anisotropic Stiffness Steamed Shrimp’, ‘Squid Castle’, ‘Micro Pillar Saltwater Eel’ and ‘Dashi Soup Universe.’

The restaurant is expected to open its doors at some point this year.
