The fashion brand has announced that it will close its remaining stores in the market.
The news doesn’t come as a surprise as Benetton has been reducing its operations in the Belgian market for a while now. Their last store in Brussels was closed last year and its final standalone location in Antwerp also closed last March. The last remaining locations for shoppers to purchase Benetton items are shop-in-shop locations at Galeria Inno and an outlet in Messancy.
However, Benetton’s contract with Galeria Inno is set to end early next year and the brand has confirmed that they will not extend this partnership. The outlet store partnership ends later this year.
As the retailer leaves the Belgian market, 29 job cuts will be made.
