Abu Dhabi to Open UAE’s First Brewery

Set to launch on Al Maryah Island, Side Hustle will use global brewing influences and pair drinks with Southern Louisiana-inspired cuisine.

Abu Dhabi-based craft beer manufacturer Side Hustle is set to open the UAE’s first brewery this month at The Galleria Al Maryah Island.

Abu Dhabi updated its alcohol licensing regulations in 2021 to allow license holders to brew beverages on-site for consumption in licensed venues, according to Bloomberg. This paved the way for Craft by Side Hustle to launch as the region’s inaugural brewery operation. Located in the vibrant F&B district of Al Maryah Island, the 250-seater brewery aims to produce unique craft beers using artisanal methods.

Side Hustle currently sells its beers such as IPAs, lagers and seasonal varieties across the UAE and on Etihad Airlines flights. The on-site microbrewery will provide a dedicated production facility and tasting room experience for the first time. Craft by Side Hustle represents an important step for Abu Dhabi’s developing food and beverage scene. It joins numerous high-end restaurants at The Galleria like 99 Sushi, Zuma and Nusr-Et Steakhouse.
