Abu Dhabi to Reopen All Business and Tourism Activities

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee have signalled that Abu Dhabi can resume business and tourism activities within two weeks following a period of lockdown.

A statement has been issued that confirms the decision was made following the successful efforts that led to maintain a low percentage of confirmed Coronavirus cases per total tests conducted in the emirate.

Events are already beginning to return to Abu Dhabi with the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) recently unveiling plans for the Abu Dhabi Shopping Season. Ali Hassan Al Shabia, Executive Director of Tourism and Marketing, DCT Abu Dhabi, commented: “Our brand-new Abu Dhabi Shopping Season is poised to further boost the emirate’s diverse retail sector as we ready to re-welcome visitors from our largest international source markets this year.”

The committee has pledged that it will continue to work with authorities to review the precautionary measures currently in place to keep locals and guests safe from the spread of Covid-19.
