The trendy Dubai-based restaurant and bar concept intends to open at least three new venues in the UAE and Saudi Arabia this year.
The original Akiba Dori is situated in Dubai Design District and is styled like a dark backstreet alleyway of Tokyo and is contrasted with neon lights and signs. The venue offers customers a Tokyo-inspired culinary journey with a menu that consists of dishes such as Crispy Shrimp Salad, Wagyu Katsu Sando, Chicken Katsu Curry, the 5 Formagi and Sashimi Salad to name just a few.
Despite the Coronavirus pandemic halting plans to open more physical locations, Akiba Dori intends to open at least three new venues across the UAE and Saudi Arabia this year and is also eyeing the European market. The first of these new venues to open is located in Jeddah and is scheduled to open its doors in May 2021, the popularity of this new venue could lead to further franchises in Riyadh.
As well as this, a new venue in Abu Dhabi is set to open in July/August at the Yas Bay Development on Yas Island, where it will be joined by another 25 restaurants and bars. No solid plans have yet been announced for the new Dubai location however it will be located in ‘one of the older parts’ of new Dubai.
