Bahrain’s gourmands are in for a treat with the debut of Gyuto, a brand-new Japanese restaurant, recently inaugurated at Al Liwan, Seef Properties’ latest open-air mixed-use development in Hamala.
Building on the success of its sister restaurant, Wakame, at Downtown Dubai, Gyuto offers an innovative dining experience by suffusing a contemporary touch to classic Japanese cuisine, said a statement.
Gyuto’s interiors feature picturesque traditional Japanese murals that “promise to add a distinctive ambiance,” says Gyuto co-owner Alawi Al Braik.
A selection of novel dishes from Gyuto’s menu includes Black Cod & Prawn Dim Sum served with lemongrass, sesame oil and ponzu garlic; Crispy Lobster Bao; Japanese Yellowtail Sashimi served with jalapeño salsa, citrus soy and orange jelly; and Firecracker Roses Maki with salmon roses, chopped spicy salmon and tempura crumb.
Vegetarians haven’t been excluded either, with a special menu comprising the decadent Truffle Miso Mushroom, Mushroom Tempura Hotpot, and five specialty maki dishes, to just name a few.
Desserts have also been given a contemporary Japanese twist, with dishes including Miso Caramel Cheesecake and Chocolate Matcha Fondant.
