As part of the brand’s larger expansion plans, two new locations have opened in Milan.
The two new outlets have been designed for metropolitan areas and are smaller than the retailer’s standard store format. They have been specially designed for urban locations and are placed in easily accessible locations. The first outlet occupies just over 500sq m and is located near Milan Central Station. The second outlet covers around 650sq m and is located in one of the busiest areas of the city.
Around 85 per cent of the stores offerings are from the retailer’s own private label ranges and 75 per cent come from selected Italian suppliers and customers can browse and purchase around 120 fruit and vegetable offerings as well as stock cupboard items.
Aldi Italia plans to open 100 stores by the end of 2020. The addition of these two new outlets brings their store total to 93 and so the brand is on target to surpass their 100 store target.
