Aldi Launches Pizzabot

Aldi Corner Store in North Sydney has debuted a first of its kind pizza-making robot vending machine, called Pizzabot.

The collaboration with Placer Robotics, a Bondi start-up, will see restaurant-grade pizzas served in two minutes. The vending machine is designed and manufactured in Australia. The pizza bases are handmade and these are then partially cooked in Bondi and topped with local ingredients and then chilled in the Pizzabot machine. The glass front of the machine will allow customers to look at the process of the pizza being cooked and packed by the robot.

Huw Longman, Director, Aldi Corner Store said: “We understand our shoppers are motivated by quality, value and supporting local. With Pizzabot, we deliver great quality pizza and a unique experience, at the lowest price point.”

Meanwhile, Pizzabot Founder and MD, Matt Lipski, said: “To ensure we’re bringing restaurant-quality gourmet pizzas to the Aldi Corner Store customers, we use the freshest, highest-quality ingredients.”
