The highly-anticipated 2021 Christmas advert sees the return of Kevin the Carrot along with the new character, Ebanana Scrooge.
The bargain supermarket retailer has teamed up with Marcus Rashford for its Christmas Campaign this year and it has pledged to donate 1.8M meals to families over the festive period. The ad is inspired by the iconic Charles Dicken’s story, A Christmas Carol, and it features the return of the iconic Kevin the Carrot alongside the newly introduced Ebanana Scrooge.
The festive advert introduces viewers to a collection of fruit and vegetable characters including Tiny Tom, Peas and Goodwill, Kevin’s Dickensian family and Marcus Radishford, voiced by the 24 year old footballer. Rashford was recognised for his efforts last summer to ensure that no child in need went hungry.
Speaking about his inclusion in the Aldi advert, Rashford says: “As a family, we relied on the local food bank to get our Christmas dinner. To this day, I remember queuing outside that building with mum, mum feeling embarrassed that she might be recognised. It is with that in mind that I’m delighted to lend my support to the Aldi campaign.”
