Allbirds Continues to Open Stores

The brand, which opened its first bricks-and-mortar store in 2018 has since gone on to open 23 locations in total, even in the face of the global Coronavirus pandemic.

Allbirds was founded by Tim Brown and Joey Zwillinger, who together crafted a revolutionary wool fabric, made especially for footwear. The brand enjoyed a meteoric rise with the launch of their sneakers inspired by natural materials and their mantra to create better things in a better way.

Although the brand began its journey as an online-only retailer, Allbirds has since found its feet in the world of physical stores and has locations in the UK, Europe, the US, New Zealand and Asia. Despite 2020 being an unprecedented year for many, the brand is remaining committed to growing their physical store presence and has most recently opened a 2090sq ft store in Philadelphia.

The brand is confident that their ethos will continue to drive shoppers to their stores. Travis Boyce, Allbirds’ Head of Global Retail Operations, commented: “During the pandemic, we’re seeing that our sustainable commitments are just as if not even more important to shoppers than ever. It’s a testament that people care about brand mission and want to put their purchasing power to good use. They want to do something that’s better for the world.”
