The new line includes high-waisted leggings, biker shorts and a running tank top that is complete with a built-in sports bra.
Allbirds continues to champion sustainability in all that it does, with reducing carbon emissions and being environmentally friendly continuing to be a priority for the brand. The retailer has avoided using polyester, instead creating the collection with eucalyptus tree fibre and merino wool, the two materials that are also utilised in its iconic sneakers.
The brand first ventured into the apparel market in August 2019 when it launched a line of socks. Following this, last October, four clothing items debuted, including a shirt made from discarded crab shell and a wool puffer-jacket created from New Zealand-sourced merino wool.
Co-Founder Tim Brown, commented: “For us at Allbirds, the disconnect between what we wear to improve our personal health and its negative impact on the health of our planet seemed like an important space for us to tackle.”
