The newly-launched 33,172sq ft store is the first Amazon Fresh location in Maryland the third in the greater Washington D.C. area.
Continuing with their physical retailing expansion, this new Amazon Fresh store features traditional checkouts, giving customers the chance to shop traditionally, alongside Amazon Dash Cart, for those who prefer to skip the queue. Initially launched in 2020, Amazon Dash Cart uses computer vision algorithms and sensor fusion to identity the items that customers put into their shopping cart. Customs sign in using their Fresh QR code in the Amazon app, shop and exit through the Dash Cart lane, automatically completing their payment.
Further omni-channel offerings include Amazon Alex voice technology and Amazon Echo Show devices, both designed to make the shopping experience more simple and stress free.
