Amazon to Create New UK Apprenticeships

The online giant has announced that they will hire over 1,000 new full-time apprentices across the UK.

The apprenticeships will cover 25 different schemes, with opportunities from engineering to broadcast production, creative digital design to health, safety and environment technicians all available for applications.

Payment begins as £10.80 per hour in the UK’s capital city of London and £9.70 per hour in other parts of the UK. Upon completion, apprentices will have the opportunity to work as part of Amazon’s UK operations including fulfilment, delivery, sortation and head offices.

John Boumphrey, Amazon UK Country Manager, commented: “We are proud to be creating new opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds across the UK to gain skills through our apprenticeship programmes in 25 different fields, from logistics to robotics.”

Last year, Amazon created 10,000 new permanent jobs across the UK and since 2010 has invested over £23bn in their UK operations.
