The Sea Life Aquarium and the Legoland Discovery Center, which were both set to open on May 4, will now open this summer.
According to an email sent by the public relations firm representing the attractions, the two attractions will now open later in the year in the summer period. Both of the attractions are operated by Merlin Entertainments, a global operator which boasts 130 attractions all across the globe.
The American Dream project has consistently faced delays since the mall was first proposed by developers nearly 20 years ago. The project, which was originally set to be called Xanad,u has had three different developers and is now in the hands of Triple Five who have recently had to give up large stakes in its other properties, Mall of America and West Edmonton Mall to enable financing for the American Dream mega-entertainment project.
The Sea Life Aquarium was originally slated to open in spring 2020 and in January of last year, workers had already begun filling massive tanks which are designed to house 3,000 sea creatures in around 250,000 gallons of water. That opening was initially delayed when American Dream was forced to close its doors last March as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The American Dream mall is now reopened and will welcome the two attractions this summer.
