The megamall in New Jersey has been shut for close to seven months due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The project’s developers, Triple Five, who also own the Mall of America in Minnesota and West Edomonton Mall in Canada dreams of their new mall being “the world’s greatest shopping, entertainment, and dining destination.”
The retail arm of the mega development is expected to open on a rolling basis, with just a selection of tenants, around 33, welcoming customers upon the grand opening of the mall. A mall spokesperson commented that the final tenant list was still being finalised and that more than 300 retail stores will be on offer at the location upon completion.
The opening of American Dream will see the implementation of safety precautions – capacity at the centre will be limited to 25 per cent to allow for appropriate social distancing. Guests will be required to wear face coverings and operating hours will be reduced. Visitors to the Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park and DreamWorks Water Park will have their temperature checked upon entering.
