American Eagle, the teen apparel retailer has now announced that Mike Mathias will be Executive VP & CFO, effective immediately. He succeeds Bob Madore, who is leaving the company.
Since 2017, Mathias has served as AEO’s senior VP and head of financial planning & analysis and has more than 20 years of experience in the retail sector. He started his career with AEO in 1998 as manager of finance for stores and operations, rising through the business with progressive leadership positions across finance and operational areas including e-commerce, store finance, Aerie planning, strategy and business development. From 2016 to 2017, he departed AEO to serve as VP, financial planning and analysis at General Nutrition Centers.
