The retailer is looking to open a number of Aerie stores in Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s flagship centres.
American Eagle and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield have signed leases for seven new Aerie stores, along with two adjacent standalone stores for Offline by Aerie, Aerie’s activewear sub-wear brand. The Offline by Aerie brand was introduced last summer and focuses particularly on women’s activewear, providing leggings, bike shorts, tops, sports bras, fleeces, bottoms and accessories.
The new Aerie stores will feature at a number of key Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield flagships, including: Westfield Garden State Plaza, Westfield Montgomery, Westfield Old Orchard, Westfield Plaza Bonita, Westfield Southcenter, Westfield South Shore and Westfield Valley Fair. Westfield Garden State Plaza and Montgomery will also feature adjacent Offline stores.
“At AEO Inc. stores are a powerful tool for our omni-channel business and continue to be important for our brands,” comments Andrew McLean, Chief Commercial Officer at AEO. He continues: “Our approach to store openings if based on a deep understanding of customer and market potential. Future expansion in the Westfield Portfolio is based on achieving that potential and our core belief in engaging and serving new customers for both Aerie and the Offline by Aerie sub-brand.”
