The restaurant chain, which currently operates 130 corporate-owned and franchised locations, will add to Amici Partners Group’s restaurant portfolio.
Amici is affiliated with Brix Holdings, whose portfolio consists of Souper Salad, Red Mango, Yogurt Café Smoothie & Juice Bar and Smoothie Factory Juice Bar among others. Friendly’s, which fell into bankruptcy in November, will now join these other brands after Amici has just purchased the restaurant chain for $2M.

The new owners will bring back a number of Friendly’s favourites, focusing on menu innovation and ensuring that customers know that the Friendly’s is the perfect option for families. Erlich, concluded: “We believe we will be able to continue to reinvigorate this much-loved brand for both loyal patrons and new customers alike.”
