AmorePacific Launches Refill Store

In a first for the nation’s cosmetic industry, the South Korean cosmetics giant has opened a refill station in one of their stores.

Located in the brands new Gwanggyo store in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, the refill store offers customers a solution to pay for the products they actually require. Customers can take an empty container made of coconut shells and fill it with their product of choice. There are currently 15 different kinds of shampoo and body washes available at the refill store.

After filling the container, the product is weighed and customers pay per gram. The prices differ per product and customers can generally fill a container for a cost of roughly 50 per cent less than pre-packaged cosmetics products.

The company commented: “We decided to run the refill station to better meet the demand of the times requiring a wider variety of sales methods and the promotion of refill products.”
