An Inside Look at The Mukaab

Saudi Arabia has launched a new project which is set to be the world’s largest modern downtown – New Murabba, scheduled for completion in 2030, the megaproject will house one of the largest built structures in the world, The Mukaab.

Inspired by the modern Najdi architectural style, the Mukaab will feature first-of-its-kind facilities and will be an immersive destination that blends digital and virtual technology with the latest holographics.

The “Mukaab” will encompass a tower atop a spiral base, and a structure featuring two million square metres of floor space that will be a premium hospitality destination with a multitude of retail, cultural and tourist attractions, along with residential and hotel units, commercial spaces, and recreational facilities.

The cubic shape of the “Mukaab” will ensure the utilisation of space to accommodate the technologies necessary to develop the icon. The façade of the structure will feature delicately carved geometric motifs as a tribute to the kingdom’s rich Islamic history.

The destination is set to offer a 360-degree experience to residents and visitors that features entertainment, residential, dining, hotels, retail, museum, theatres, music, galleries and gyms.
