The new ‘Express’ store format unveiled by Apple came as a result of the rise in Covid-19 cases around Europe and the Americas. The new format enables customers to make an appointment to speak with one of Apple’s technicians for customer service or other issues.
The Express store has a wall built in front of the main store with sales counters protected by plexiglass and a few shelves of accessories such as phone cases and AirPods and appears to be the perfect solution for a Covid-19 world.
The launch of the iPhone 12, the company’s biggest launch of the year, has coincided with another rise in Covid-19 cases amongst key markets such as America and Europe, the installation of these Express Retail Stores allows the company to carry on distributing their products in a more cautious way. The new Express stores gives Apple another option in areas where stores may be forced to offer a reduced service.
Apple currently has around 20 Express stores across Europe and America, with plans to roll out 50 across the two regions by the end of the month.
