Aquazzura Unveils New Delhi Boutique

The brand has announced the opening of its first-ever store in India inside the exclusive Chanakya Mall in New Delhi, in partnership with DS Luxury Retail Limited, a Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group) entity.

Doused in the house’s signature delicate aqua hue, the overall inspiration evokes the summery glory of an Italian garden blooming with colourful flowers and fruit. The principal decorative element of the boutique, which is illuminated by three arched-shaped windows, is the geometric elegance of the trellis, interpreted in various ways.

On the ceiling, the trellis motif appears as wall art with colourful branches replete with flowers, oranges and lemons, sinuously weaving through the typical gridwork. On each side, four pineapples, the emblem of Aquazzura’s world, liven up the scene.

The garden motif is also recalled in the aqua displays, adorned with green marble touches and golden-bordered shelves that add a warm glow to the otherwise light and cool palette. They are festooned by hand-painted branches, similar to the ones on the ceiling, while shell-shaped ornaments carved from stone sit at their base.

By contrast, black and white stripes create a striking optical effect on the marble floors and a circular seating element that serves as the focal point. It is decorated by a raised central stone urn with topiary plants pruned into different-sized spheres.

In true Aquazzura style, it is meticulously curated down to the smallest detail and showcases a wide selection of footwear, including evergreens, seasonal and an extensive bridal collection, alongside bags and jewellery. The space was designed in collaboration with Marie-Anne Oudejans, the versatile Dutch artist who also lent her creative touches to the London, Capri and St. Tropez venues.

With a total of 10 new openings this year, 2024 will be a particularly prolific year for Aquazzura’s retail expansion, which focuses on Asia and the Middle East with new units in Bahrain, Kuwait, Riyadh and soon Jeddah.
