Asics Struggles Amid Pandemic

A steep drop in revenue has been reported by the brand as the ongoing effects of the coronavirus continue to change consumer behaviours.

Like many other brands, Japanese sportswear retailer Asics has seen a positive reaction to their e-commerce offering with online sales increasing by 139% in its European market. Unfortunately this has not been enough to offset the losses in profit caused by store closures across the globe. The company has recorded a drop in global sales to the equivalent of $1.4bn up to this year’s second quarter.

In its home market sales have fallen by 24% to $444.6M while in Europe sales were down 20.5% to $350.9M.
