The online fashion retailer has seen a positive growth in profit and an increase in sales in the year to 31 August.
The overall group revenue saw an increase of 19 per cent to £3.26bn with retail sales growing by the same percentage. Sales in the UK were up by 18 per cent with sales in the US growing by the same percentage. The EU sales grew by 22 per cent and the rest of the world sales were also up by 18 per cent. During the same period, ASOS has recorded that its active customer base has grown by 3.1 million to 23.4 million customers.
Nick Beighton, Chief Executive Officer, commented: “After a record first half which saw us make progress in addressing the performance issues of the previous financial year, the second half will always be defined by our response to Covid-19. I am proud of the way ASOS met this challenge head on, putting out duty to act as a responsible business at the heart of our approach and working to balance our performance in that context. As well as protecting staff, suppliers and customers we’ve driven efficiency and have emerged a strong, more resilient and agile business whilst delivering strong profit and cash generation.”
Despite a positive result for last year, ASOS remains cautious over Covid-19 and the ongoing disruption caused by the global pandemic.
