The group, which is responsible for the East London Liquor Co. and Camden Town Brewery, will open The Gas Station at King’s Cross this week.
The site is set to open on Wednesday 20 October and it is the latest opening from the group, who are responsible for 20 food and drinks sites across London, including the popular Mare Street Market.
The drinks-led concept takes customers from day to night and is as appropriate for a cappuccino and a meeting in the morning as it is for after-work drinks. It will serve a menu of all-day food with a seafood slant. The all-day format reflects the changing working patterns of the past year and how people increasingly need flexible spaces to suit their new routines.
The Gas Station blends both indoor and outdoor dining with its large beer garden that will be covered and heated to allow it to be used all year round. The venue has been decorated with florals, wood and rattan furniture to give a relaxed, garden feel.
Marc Francis-Baum, owner of Barworks, comments: “‘I’m thrilled to be opening The Gas Station in King’s Cross this month, just as the area celebrates its 10-year anniversary. I would never have thought that all those years ago partying in Bagleys I would be opening somewhere here, one of London’s most remarkable regenerations. As much as the old days have fond memories, King’s Cross today is such an exciting place to be, and we can’t wait to show people what Barworks can do there.”
