Bata Strengthens Market Position in Spain

The shoe chain Bata (of Czech origin, but based in Switzerland) has set up shop in the heart of Barcelona in a strategic operation.

It has opened its doors at number 120 on the Rambla in a temporary format and will remain operational until next February.

Bata’s presence in the Spanish market is residual, as it operates with five establishments. And as explained by the chain in a statement, “the choice of Barcelona is not a coincidence. As part of a structured expansion project in the Spanish market, Barcelona represents a strategic point for a public that has always responded positively to the brand’s proposals,” the company explained.

Bata also maintains that under the leadership of its new President, Marco Agnolin, it is developing “a profound corporate reorganisation at a commercial and communication level, accompanied by a growing investment in research and product development.” In this sense, the chain’s pop-up store in the Catalan capital is also “an anticipation of its ‘green’ path” for which it dedicates a specific team to sustainability.
