The furniture and homeware chain is set to open its 11th store in Mexico in Monterrey, Nuevo León.
The new store, which will occupy an area of more than 1,600sq m will open at the end of the month in the Fashion Drive shopping centre. The chain is looking to expand with smaller stores and its own brands, as a differentiated offering to gain more market share.
Currently, the brand operates in Guadalajara, Morelia, Cuernavaca, Metepec and Mexico City, with all having an area between 2,000 and 3,000sq m.
Jorge Aceves, Director of Operations, Bed, Bath & Beyond, commented: “It is a very good time to try new formats and experiment with new ideas, based on the analysis and studies we did on consumer behaviour, both in Mexico and in the United Sates.”
The brand initially came to Mexico through a joint venture with Home & More and has no expansion plans in place. The philosophy was to let the customer dictate their expansion within the market.
