Boxpark Won’t Charge Rent in Second Lockdown

The news comes following an announcement that all non-essential retail will temporarily close their doors again from tomorrow, Thursday November 5.

Boxpark offers an impressive selection of street food options from all over the world. Offering a platform for independent street food traders as well as some of London’s favourite restaurants, Boxpark has grown to become a quirky, innovative and well-loved concept in the UK.

Following the news of a second UK lockdown, Roger Wade, Chief Executive Officer at Boxpark announced that the company would not be charging their tenants rent or service fees during this difficult period and that the company will retain all of their staff, with the majority of these being put on the Coronavirus Job Retention scheme.

Roger Wade comments: “The past few months have been one of the most difficult times for the hospitality and retail industries” and praises his teams who he stated have been working tirelessly to give all customers a memorable experience with a safety-first approach but also comments that the company “must carefully consider the safety of our own team.”

He concludes: “EAT. DRINK. PAUSE. We’ll be right back… Stay safe, see you soon!”
