B&Q Opens Largest Store in Over a Decade

The DIY and home improvement retailing company has opened the store in Colchester, with a formal cutting of the ribbon ceremony held today.

The new store brings together instore shopping missions with digital fulfilment, fully representing the home and DIY retailer’s commitment to growing its e-commerce offering within store. Customers will be able to shop a range of products for home improvement needs, alongside a purpose-built garden centre with a dedicated garden showroom.

The store also features a brand-new showroom that displays the very latest kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms in interactive and inspirational displays and, in a very first move for the brand, a new ‘shop in shop’ for workwear.

B&Q Stane Park Store Manager Caroline Voutsinas said: “DIY has really captured the imagination of the nation over the past 18-months, so our new and improved B&Q in Colchester is very timely, giving Colchester DIY-ers and tradespeople a much improved store experience with plenty of exciting new features to make home improvement easier than ever. I cannot wait to welcome the local community into the store.”
