The upscale jeweller and hotelier Bulgari is launching a resort in the Maldives, marking the 14th endeavour for the Italian company. Since its initial hotel opening in Milan in 2004, Bulgari has opened 12 additional properties.
There has been an industry-wide evolution of high-end hotels and hospitality to expand into brand extensions. This is with the intention of appealing to luxury retailers, like LVMH, Ralph Lauren, Versace, and Armani. In addition, some hotels utilize designer furnishings in their suites. Examples of this include the Dior Suite at the Regis Hotel in New York and the Diane Von Furstenberg suite at Claridge’s in London.
The 50-acre Bulgari Maldives resort will include 43 rooms and 33 beach villas with private pools. Furthermore, it will feature a boutique where guests may purchase jewellery and accessories made by Bulgari in addition to a number of opulent facilities.
“We are particularly proud to have secured such an extraordinary location for the new Bulgari Resort Ranfushi, as the Maldives are a key dreamy destination for our clients from all over the world,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, Bulgari’s CEO. “We are convinced that this new gem of hospitality addition will ensure once again the highest levels of quality and innovation to our international customers and we look forward to sharing with them the Bulgari values in hospitality at this new, very exclusive location.”
