World-renowned chef Daniel Boulud, who recently starred in the third series of the hit TV series The Bear, is set to open Café Boulud Riyadh later in 2024.
The restaurant will open in Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre, marking his first entry into Saudi and his second in the region, following Brasserie Boulud at Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk.
Located on the Lobby level of the hotel, Café Boulud Riyadh will feature menus that celebrate the culinary traditions of Lyon. Emphasising seasonality, the café incorporates the best and freshest imported and local ingredients based on availability.
Chef Boulud’s culinary journey began in Saint-Pierre-de-Chandieu, near Lyon, where he was raised on his family’s farm. At 15, he apprenticed at the two-Michelin-starred restaurant of Chef Gérard Nandron in Lyon, and by 17, he was a finalist for the Best Culinary Apprentice in France.
Guenter Gebhard, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh, said: “We are very much looking forward to introducing the essence of French cuisine and the culinary creativity of chef Daniel Boulud to our guests, locals and travellers from around the world with the debut of Café Boulud later this year. With an appreciation of classic cuisines from around the world growing here in Saudi Arabia – and nothing is more classic than French – we have the right restaurant at the right time to make a significant impact & elevate the dining scene here in Riyadh.”
