Carphone Warehouse, the mobile phone retailer based in London, which was founded in 1989, have now announced that they will be closing all 531 standalone stores in the UK from April this year, with almost 3,000 jobs to be lost. The company said the following in a statement: ‘But though this is by far the toughest decision we’ve had to make, it is necessary. We must follow our customers. They want help with all technology, all in one place, and this trend is only going to accelerate in a more connected 5G world.’
