The new collaboration will allow thousands of customers to order grocery items from Carrefour via the Deliveroo platform.
The service has now been rolled out in Brussels and will become available in Antwerp, Ghent and Liège by the end of this month. Customers are able to browse a range of around 1,190 products including ready meals, fruit and vegetables, snacks, cleaning products, organic items, baby care and pet care products.
There are a number of options available when using the Deliveroo platform including standard delivery and a free-of-charge pickup service which allows shoppers to place their orders with Deliveroo and pick it up as soon as 10 minutes later from a designated Carrefour store. Deliveroo will accept orders until 7:30pm, seven days a week.
Aurélie Gerth, spokesperson at Carrefour Belgium, believes that the initiative has the potential to grow further and can even be scaled up at a later stage.
