Nestled in the quaint village of Plaka, Greece’s newest design hotel, CAYO Resort & Spa will open for its first full season this week.
Positioned near the charming Elounda Bay, travellers can escape the crowds and relax on their own private plot of seafront on Plaka Beach, where CAYO houses private parasols, sunbeds and Stone Beach House – a laidback lounge serving creative cocktails and Mediterranean fare.
This new resort has been designed to appeal to every type of traveller, whether this is couples looking to reconnect post lockdown or families and friends reuniting after a lot of time spent apart. Featuring spacious suites to expansive two and three-bedroom villas that offer privacy, each accommodation is completed with a private plunge pool and spacious terrace, with excellent views of Spinalonga Islet.
Visitors to the Cayo resort will be treated to the island’s tapestry of beaches, historic treasures and quaint villages that offer a wide range of exciting activities such as paddle-boarding to cycling and hiking the hilltop trails of Crete. After all the excitement, guests can dine at one of the four gastronomic restaurants, with menus designed by Chef Lefteris Lazarou, who is the first Greek Chef to be awarded a Michelin Star.
