The menswear brand plans to close 102 stores in France.
Founded in 1985, Celio has become, in less than 30 years, the leading men’s ready-to-wear brand in France. Constantly expanding, the brand is present in nearly 50 countries with more than 1500 stores. The brand offers elegant and cool urban fashion through a wide choice of clothing and accessories for men created by its integrated style.
Like many other brands, Celio has been hit hard by the Coronavirus pandemic and between March and May 2020, the brand says that it has lost €100M in revenue. Having consistently struggled with the impacts of the pandemic, Celio requested a safeguard procedure to set up a recovery plan.
“Celio had already been in difficulty for several years when we were struck by the successive crises which affected the entire ready-to-wear sector. Where yesterday we could have envisaged a gradual transformation, it is now urgent for us to lead this reorganisation,” comments Gaëlle de la Fosse, President of Celio.
Stores affect by the closure will remain open until the end of the year.
