Alper Uzundurukan will bring the ‘magic UAE touch’ to the upcoming restaurants Huqqabaz Jumeirah and Huqqabaz Garden.
The executive chef at Dubai’s two new Huqqabaz restaurants said he will bring the “magic UAE touch” to both venues. Born and raised in Istanbul, Alper Uzundurukan has spent his life surrounded by Turkish cuisine.
Opening in Mall of the Emirates and Jumeirah, the fast-casual, all-day-dining concept is promising to push boundaries when it comes to its menu and nature-inspired atmosphere.
In 2008, Uzundurukan was working at Zuma Istanbul. He has also worked for the likes of Ulus 29 in the same city, La Serre Bistro in Dubai, La Cantine Du Faubourg, Dusty’s DIFC and The Maine Land Brasserie. Stepping into new kitchens, he says he will tap into his knowledge of both Turkey and the Middle East market.
Bringing the outdoors indoors, the Mall of the Emirates branch will have a ceiling with canopies of bougainvillea, touches of neon pink and lime accents, while a steel handmade butterfly sculpture has been designed for photo opportunities. Offering more of a homely setting and set to open this month, the second new location will be in Jumeirah 2.
