The new start-up, titled ‘Wardrobe’ has now launched across the United States following a trial test in New York City.
The Wardrobe concept works differently to other now popular clothes rental sites, operating instead on a peer-to-peer system. Once subscribed, customers can browse a selection of closets that other users upload to the service who are willing to rent out their clothes. Those renting their clothes out have reportedly earned over $1000 dollars whilst using the service.
Once the users have selected which items of clothing they would like to rent, they can then be picked up through ‘Wardrobe Hubs’ which are dry cleaners that the company has partnered with.
The company has not yet clarified which markets the Wardrobe concept will be available in.
