Ziad Kamel, founder of Rosy Hospitality and former operator of Couqley, has launched CQ French Brasserie, a new independent restaurant.
It will replace Couqley in JLT, with the brasserie offering a fresh take on classic French dining with a fine-casual approach, he says.
The JLT space has been transformed and CQ French Brasserie is set to expand, with additional locations planned in the coming months as it aims to establish itself as a go-to destination for family and friends.
Ziad Kamel, Founder of CQ French Brasserie said: “After 17 incredible years as a co-founder of Couqley and 11 years serving the Dubai community through multiple ventures, I’m excited to embark on a new journey. With my 10-year commitment to operating Couqley JLT now complete, I’m thrilled to introduce CQ French Brasserie, my independent, homegrown French brasserie created for friends and family.”
New menu items like the poisson frites (fish frites) and the croquette de short ribs et comté join the iconic CQ steak frites. CQ is also set to introduce its own wine label, designed to provide ultimate pairings for every meal at an accessible price. Additionally, the brand’s French baguette and butter will also be available for sale.
At the heart of the brand is the Golden Rooster (Le Coq D’Or), a symbol of resilience, prosperity and good luck in French culture.
