This autumn, Dalton Park, the largest outlet shopping and leisure destination in the Northeast of England, is set to further strengthen its position in the retailtainment landscape with the introduction of The Hole in Wand.
Set to open on 14 October, this innovative addition marks an important step in Dalton Park’s strategic expansion into the entertainment sector, promising a unique experience that will drive footfall and enhance visitor engagement.
As part of Dalton Park’s commitment to providing diverse and engaging experiences for visitors, The Hole in Wand will be the fourth UK location for this distinctive brand, known for its magical, immersive environments that captivate the imagination of guests of all ages. Additionally, The Hole in Wand/Potions Cauldron will debut its first-ever “Little Wizards” experience at Dalton Park – a space specially designed for toddlers and young children. The experience is designed to appeal to a broad demographic, offering family-friendly entertainment that will attract both local residents and tourists.
This expansion represents a strategic opportunity to engage with the growing trend for experiential retail. As consumers increasingly seek out destinations that offer more than just shopping, Dalton Park’s enhanced leisure offering is anticipated to boost visitor numbers, extend dwell times and increase cross-shopping opportunities for the centre’s retail partners.
Nicky Lovell, Head of Outlets and Retail Business Development at Global Mutual stated: “There is a growing opportunity to include entertainment and leisure options at retail destinations. Retail Outlets have the capacity to cater to the family day out model, which sees the offering of leisure, shopping and food and drink all under one roof, increasing dwell time and driving incremental spend. We’re delighted to welcome The Hole in Wand to Dalton Park, further diversifying our portfolio to provide great experiences for visitors as part of our ongoing strategy to enhance Dalton Park’s appeal. We anticipate it will drive significant footfall, benefiting both our retail tenants and the broader community.”
