Decathlon Opens in Paderborn

Continuing their expansion in the German market, Decathlon is opened their fourth store in Paderborn’s Libori Galerie in 2021.

Occupying a retail space of 2,700sq m, the newly opened store benefits from a central location within the shopping centre, and high numbers of passing foot traffic. The store boasts a retail offering alongside test areas and a service point for customers.

Despite the impacts of the global pandemic, the sporting brand has continued with their expansion plans. Decathlon Managing Director, André Weinert remains confident in the brand despite the challenging year, he comments: “In addition to our digital orientation, it is becoming apparent that more and more customers would prefer to shop in one store with a comprehensive range instead of ten different specialist dealers. I therefore see our more than 80 Decathlon branches for more than 100 sports in the best possible position for the future.”

The brand has already opened located in Germany in Offenburg, Bremen-Brinkum, Rosenheim and Paderborn this year and has further plans to open in Augsburg, Jena and Bayreuth in the second half of 2021.
