Less than a year after its official landing in Uruguay, the French sports chain Decathlon resumes its expansion in that South American country.

The brand is preparing to strengthen its presence in the physical channel, as well as make its debut in the online channel.

In an interview with the newspaper Infobusiness, ​Magela Méndez, Marketing Manager of Decathlon Uruguay, revealed that the exclusive e-commerce platform for the Uruguayan market will be launched next October with more than 2,500 products from 65 sports.

Likewise, she confirmed that they are carrying out the expansion of their only store in the country, inaugurated in the department of Canelones in November 2021, as reported by FashionNetwork.com at the time. The executive announced that the premises of currently 1,600sq m will double in size to reach 3,000sq m.
