Decathlon UK is excited to announce the opening of a brand new store in Liverpool. By opening its new 2,500sqm store on Thursday 28th April at 11am, located in a prime city centre shopping location on Church Street, Decathlon hopes to sustainably make sport more accessible to the people of Liverpool, Merseyside and the North West of England.
Located on the border of the River Mersey and Irish Sea, Liverpool offers world renowned opportunities for outdoor activities, from walking and golfing to paddleboarding and water sports. A perfect location for Decathlon, the retailer hopes its latest store will inspire shoppers in the North West to discover the joys of sport and the benefits of an active lifestyle.
The opening continues Decathlon UK’s commitment to providing a warm, welcoming retail experience to all, that is fun and interactive too. The store will also help to inject millions into the Liverpool high street, as well as creating 40 jobs for Liverpool residents with a passion for sport.
The store will offer customers in Liverpool, wider North West communities, and any visitors to the region, unbeatable value on a range of expertly designed, quality sports clothing, equipment, and accessories. Customers will benefit from the trusted expertise of Decathlon’s store teammates, whilst also being able to touch and try the products so they can find the sports equipment that is perfect for them.
Decathlon is thrilled to be encouraging even more people across the nation to get active and try something new with its latest store opening, which will also help support local community groups and sports teams in Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
Since its UK launch over 20 years ago, Decathlon has grown to be one of the UK’s leading outdoor and sporting retailers. In addition to providing customers with an immersive and informative shopping experience, Decathlon UK’s commitment to sustainability will also be evident throughout the store.
Products from the Second Life collection, an initiative which sees Decathlon repair sports equipment so that they can be reused by customers and reduce waste, will be available to customers in the store at a discounted price – benefitting shoppers and the planet at the same time.
Furthermore, Decathlon’s range of Ecodesign products, that incorporates environmental impact from its conception to ensure they are as environmentally conscious as possible, will also be available in the Liverpool store.
Ross Farrington, Decathlon’s Retail Leader in the North commented: “We’re delighted to be opening a brand new flagship store in the vibrant and sport loving city of Liverpool.
