Timothy Oulton has acquired The Sofa Workshop in a deal for £300,000.
The Sofa Workshop has been a part of the DFS Company since 2013, and consumers have been able to purchase their products through their standalone stores, from their online store and some shop-in-shops at certain DFS locations. DFS has commented that the deal was struck to ensure that it has time to focus on its other core business elements including technological investments.
Tim Oulton, founder of the eponymous brand intends to rebrand The Sofa Workshop to Sofa Workshop by Timothy Oulton, as well as invest in enhancing the overall customer experience. He has commented on the acquisition, stating: “Sofa Workshop has long been a respected brand in the UK market. I am very excited to bring to it a wider range of our globally best-selling sofa designs, along with lighting and cabinet collections.”
