Dior’s Pop-Up Series Continues

The Hong Kong pop-up by Dior was one of a series in several cities around the world with bold design to unveil the Fall 2021 men’s collection designed by Kim Jones in collaboration with Kenny Scharf.

Paying ode to the American artist’s vibrant Pop aesthetic, these showcases revisited a universe informed by cartoons, surrealism and science fiction. From Beijing to Vancouver by way of Hong Kong, characters from his works came to life in the form of spectacular sculptures, giant balloons and three-dimensional stickers, in a cosmic decor in perpetual movement, like an interstellar journey recalling the futuristic atmosphere of the runway presentation.

At the Harbour City pop-up, these light-hearted creatures dominated an immersive scenography featuring an interactive motion sensor screen. Symbols of positive energy and subtle seed-stitch embroideries created using ancestral Chinese savoir-faire transposed the artist’s motifs onto a selection of clothes and accessories such as the Saddle bag and the B23 sneakers.
