Disneyland California to Expand Offering

The theme park in California is seeking permission from the City of Anaheim to build a new number of new lands at the attraction.

The ‘DisneylandForward’ plan will see the Disneyland resort grow and the blueprints updated  for the resort district in order to propel Anaheim’s economic rebound following the Coronavirus pandemic.

Disney will be asking the city for more flexibility in how it develops company land to be able to add a mix of theme parks, hotel, retail, dining and entertainment to the eastern and western edges of the resort. Although there would be an addition of a number of items, the overall footprint o the resort would not increase in size.

Jeanette Lomboy, Disneyland Portfolio Executive for Walt Disney Imagineering, commented: “Because of the current rigid district structure, we just need more flexibility. We’re excited about the possibilities and ready to dream. Believe me, we have no shortage of ideas, contents or stores to tell or build.”
