Dunkin’ Continues with Non-Traditional Expansion

Continuing with their focus on opening non-traditional locations, the company is targeting airports, universities and travel plazas.

The brand has recently opened a number of non-traditional retail locations including various sites across Las Vegas such as the Convention Center, LINQ Hotel and Arizona Charlie’s Boulder Casino, as well as a reopening at the new Virgin Hotel.

Alongside this, Dunkin’ has recently opened its 12th location with Great Wolf Resorts in Manteca, California. Particular attention has also been paid to creating a presence in health care settings, with locations at the Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Florida and UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, recently opening.

“Dunkin’ continues to modernize with convenience at the forefront,” said Chris Burr, Director of Non-Traditional Development at Inspire Brands, which acquired Dunkin’ in November 2020 in a blockbuster deal. “Our flexible concepts for any non-traditional format have been an essential aspect of our growth over the past decade and will remain a vital part of our future development strategy.”

Looking ahead, the brand intends to focus on airport expansion within New York’s JFK Airport in Terminal 1 and Chicago’s O’Hare Airport in Terminal 5.
