RLI Sustainable Retailer of the Year
Sustainability is becoming a growing concern for consumers. This category will reward a retail
or brand owner that has made a meaningful impact on the environment by understanding and
addressing the challenges of sustainability; recognising the importance of social responsibility
and providing goods that are ethically sourced and produced.
Aranyani
Aranyani, India’s first luxury handbag brand
embodies the essence of sustainable luxury
by combining heritage craftsmanship,
environmental responsibility and ethical
business practices. Named after the
Vedic goddess of the forest, Aranyani is
deeply rooted in nature, ensuring that
every handbag is crafted with minimal
environmental impact and maximum
artistry. The brand’s ethos is guided by the
words of its Founder, Mr. Haresh Mirpuri,
who states: “Our company is only as
valuable as the positive impact we have on
the world around us.” This philosophy drives
Aranyani’s commitment to sustainability,
ethical sourcing and mindful zero-waste
creation, leading to global recognition.
An example of its sustainability initiatives
can be seen in its London flagship store
in Mayfair, which was designed using
locally sourced and sustainable materials,
reducing the carbon footprint.
Bocan
Bocan is the atelier for luxury
nightwear and home reception
wear that celebrates memorable
occasions and new beginnings.
Founded on the pillars of family
bonds, heritage and tradition;
their ethos is rooted in conscious
craftsmanship and a circular
design philosophy. They embrace
slow luxury, crafting timeless
pieces with longevity, elegance
and purpose. By producing
in small, considered batches,
they minimise overproduction
and preserve the integrity of
their artisanal process. Their
low-carbon approach supports
local sourcing, community
ateliers and the use of deadstock
and natural fabrics, honouring
material heritage while reducing
waste. Each creation is made
to transcend seasons, inviting
a more intentional relationship
with fashion. With a deep
commitment to circularity, they
continue to explore restorative
practices, from reclaiming
materials to extending product
