The Varyáda shopping centre in Karlovy Vary has been undergoing extensive modernisation and expansion. Construction works are taking place while the centre is in full operation.
Construction of the Premiere Cinemas multiplex is currently starting on its front part. The new cinema, which is scheduled to open next summer, will offer six theatres with a capacity of up to 1,000 seats on 2,500sq m.
The Varyáda shopping centre has an area of more than 18,000sq m, with almost 70 stores featuring fashion brands, stores with cosmetics, jewellery and electronics along with an Albert hypermarket, cafes and hairdressers. The building was commissioned in 2005 and is now being modernised and expanded. The expected completion date is before the Christmas season of 2025. Varyáda, together with the Central Most shopping centre belong to the portfolio of the investment company EPG Group.
The construction of Premiere Cinemas is an important milestone for the entire region. It is the last of the Czech regions that still lacks its own multiplex.
