Etude House to Focus Online

The South Korean beauty retailer is set to shut its last store in Singapore at Bugis Junction tomorrow, Friday 25 February.

Etude House, owned by beauty conglomerate Amorepacific launched its very first store in Singapore in 2009. Since then, the retailer has opened 16 locations across the city, including the world’s largest Etude House flagship store at Wisma Atria.

The brand is now closing its last store in Singapore in a move that will see them switch their focus to online via its own website and on e-commerce marketplaces including Shopee, Lazada and Zalora. Members of Etude House will no longer be able to redeem point from the Sweet Points programme after the store closure.

The move to close this last Singapore store comes after the brand closed all of its physical locations in China last year. The brand experiences years of accumulating losses, which has resulted in its capital impairment, according to a recent article from The Korea Times.
